It was built to solve the frustration of not knowing exactly what a product is called, where to find it nearby, or how to get it quickly without repeated store trips.
How SnapShop Works as a Business
SnapShop helps consumers identify and purchase hard-to-name products from nearby retailers using photo, voice, text, and barcode inputs. Retailers receive orders through SnapShop’s platform, while consumers see transparent pricing for products, fees, and delivery at checkout. SnapShop generates revenue through transaction-based platform economics, including a small consumer service fee shown at checkout and retailer-side platform participation tied to fulfilled orders. Retailers pay no upfront subscription fee to participate in the core marketplace flow.

SnapShop is built as a cloud-native commerce platform using Google Cloud infrastructure, including Cloud Run, managed database services, Firebase, and Gemini on Vertex AI for vision workflows.
